Hugh Jackman has been nominated for his first Best
Actor Oscar for his role Jean Valjean in Les
Miserables. Australian-born Hugh Jackman rose to Hollywood fame in his role
as Wolverine in the first X-Men film
in 2000. Jackman’s musical, acting, and producing talents has increased since
his debut as he has continued to play the Wolverine role in five films not
including the upcoming The Wolverine and
X-Men: Days of Future Past. Jackman
has covered film, television and musicals. More interesting accolades include:
- Starred as Gaston in the Australian production of Beauty and the Beast
- Already won his first Golden Globe for Les Miserables after being first nominated in 2002 for Kate & Leopold
- Met his wife on an ABC Australian television series, Correlli, they starred in together in 1995
- Did not get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame until this past December!
